The present invention relates to a method for detecting an image-based indoor position and to a mobile terminal using same, and in particular, to a method for detecting an image-based indoor position and to a mobile terminal using same which are capable of detecting an indoor position of a user only using an image and an indoor map without a separate image database. To this end, the method for detecting an image-based indoor position according to the present invention, includes the steps of: (a) obtaining images for one or more directions of the user using a camera embedded in a user terminal; (b) extracting features inside a building from the images corresponding to the obtained user directions; (d) matching the user directions and the extracted features of the image with indoor map information about the building; (e) estimating a position of the user terminal through the image and map matching process. |
