A pouch type secondary battery is provided to improve the safety against the thermal abnormality of a secondary battery by opening and closing the sealing part of an exterior material. A secondary battery comprises an electrode assembly which comprises a positive electrode plate, a negative electrode plate and a separator located between the two electrode plates; an exterior material which accommodated the electrode assembly and contains a sealing part at the edge; a safety vent layer(224) which is located at the sealing part of the exterior material; and a plurality of [electrode tabs which are electrically connected with the electrode assembly and whose some part is projected to the outside of the exterior material. |
