PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor type gas sensor deterioration determination method that determines deterioration without using standard gas having a known concentration and without requiring human labor; and the semiconductor type gas sensor.SOLUTION: On the basis of an application voltage or energization current to semiconductor type gas sensor elements 1 and 2, resistance values R and r of the elements 1 and 2 are calculated. When R/r is larger than a predetermined value c, it is determined that deterioration does not occur. When R comes so close to r that R/r is equal to or smaller than c, it is determined that deterioration occurs in the sensor 1, and an alarm is output. When at least one of R and r becomes smaller than a specified value, it is determined that the sensor element 1 or 2 is deteriorated, and an alarm is output. |
