PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image reader, a program and a radiation image reading method, capable of reading a radiation image regardless of the size of a storage phosphor sheet to be read without causing enlargement of a device.SOLUTION: A radiation image reader includes: a housing 10 having a carry-in/out port 12b for carrying-in/out a storage phosphor sheet S having a recorded radiation image and an exhaust port 20 for exhausting the storage phosphor sheet S; an image reading part 16 for reading the radiation image recorded on the storage phosphor sheet S carried-in from the carry-in/out port 12b; and a transportation part 14 for carrying the storage phosphor sheet S carried-in from the carry-in/out port 12b to a position read by the image reading part 16 and carrying the storage phosphor sheet S having the read radiation image to the carry-in/out port 12b or the exhaust port 20.
