<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for selecting an artificial sentiment expressing action that selects an optimal combination of actions which a robot can express and which resemble an emotional expression of a human being to the greatest possible extent.SOLUTION: A device for selecting an artificial sentiment expressing action includes a sentimental expression designation unit that designates a probability of each of emotion expressing actions to be performed for each of expression elements of a mechanical installation in relation to each of predefined emotions, a combination-of-actions production unit that produces one or more combinations of actions by extracting one by one at random emotion expressing actions for each of the expression elements, and a combination-of-actions selection unit that calculates a mean of probabilities of emotion expressing actions, which are included in each combination of actions, for each of the emotions of the mechanical installation, and selects a combination of actions, which exhibits a mean of probabilities of emotion expressing actions that is closest to a predefined emotional value of the mechanical installation, from among the combinations of actions.</p> |
