PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermochromic writing instrument capable of preventing contamination of a friction body during non-use time.SOLUTION: The thermochromic writing instrument comprises: a pen point 7 capable of discharging thermochromic ink; and a friction body 5 capable of rubbing handwriting of the thermochromic ink and discoloring the handwriting by heat discoloration, the heat is generated by the rubbing and which is formed of elastic material with low wear property. The writing instrument 1 comprises an axial member 4, the friction body 5 projecting to an end 3a of the axial member 4, and a cover 6 attached to the axial member 4 for covering the friction body 5. By moving the cover 6 forward to the axial member 4 with rotating the cover 6 to engage, and by contacting a friction part 5a which is an end of the friction body 5 to a bottom 60 of the cover 6, so that detent of the cover 6 is performed. |
