PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element which can determine the light intensity of some wavelength component of the incident light appropriately.SOLUTION: A photoelectric conversion element includes a charge generation layer 13 generating charges by the incident light, and a wavelength conversion layer 14 performing wavelength conversion of a wavelength component R of low photoelectric conversion efficiency in the charge generation layer of the light into a wavelength B of high photoelectric conversion efficiency. The wavelength conversion layer 14 is, when viewed from the side of the incident light, sectioned into a wavelength conversion region 14a for entering the light into the charge generation layer 13 while performing wavelength conversion of a wavelength component R of low photoelectric conversion efficiency, and a non-wavelength conversion region 14b for entering the light into the charge generation layer 13 without performing wavelength conversion of the wavelength component R of low photoelectric conversion efficiency.
