PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain good sound pressure frequency characteristics.SOLUTION: An acoustic generator according to one embodiment includes at least: an exciter; a flat vibrating body; a support medium which tightly stretches the vibrating body; and a damping material. The exciter vibrates when an electric signal is input thereto. The exciter is attached to the flat vibrating body and vibrations of the exciter causes the vibrating body to vibrate with the exciter. The support medium tightly stretches the vibrating body therein and vibrations of the exciter causes the supporting medium to vibrate with the vibrating body. An outer peripheral shape of the vibrating body is formed into an oval shape.
