PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can perform sleep control more appropriately, and to provide a technique related thereto.SOLUTION: An MFP 10 has: a plurality of hardware modules 50a-50f which may be mutually independent and electrically-controlled; a detection section 14 which detects at least one application software (AP 1, AP 4) customized by a user of the MFP 10, among a plurality of pieces of application software to be executed in the MFP 10; a determination section 16 which determines a sleep setting for each of the plurality of hardware modules 50a-50f according to a type of the at least one application software; and an electric power control section 19 which controls sleep operation of the plurality of hardware modules 50a-50f on the basis of a content determined by the determination section 16. |
