PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing unit for supporting a wheel capable of more effectively preventing intrusion of foreign matters into an internal space and having high durability, without increasing rotational resistance.SOLUTION: A labyrinth lip 33 is positioned at a radial outer part with respect to a step portion 20 between a forging plane formed just molding a rotation-side flange 12 by side extrusion of cold-forging (having streaks in radial direction), and a ground sliding plane 21, on which grinding work is performed, at a radial outer part with respect to a seal lip 32a disposed near the outermost space. By making a tip portion of the labyrinth lip 33 and the step portion 20 be close and opposed to each other over the whole periphery in a state of being superposed in the radial direction, the labyrinth seal in the axial direction is formed between an inner peripheral face of the tip portion of the labyrinth lip 33 and an outer peripheral face of the step portion 20. |
