摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of a spin device so as to implement further microfabrication.SOLUTION: A spin device comprises: a magnetic layer 102 formed from a metal having an axis of easy vertical magnetization formed on a substrate 101; an insulation layer 103 formed on the magnetic layer 102; and an electrode 104 formed on the insulation layer 103. An electric field application control section 105 is provided which applies an electric field to the magnetic layer 102 by applying a voltage between the electrode 104 and the magnetic layer 102. The electric field application control section 105 is capable of switching positive and negative voltages to be applied to the electrode 104. By switching positive and negative application voltages, a direction of the electric field to be applied to the magnetic layer 102 is switched and magnetization of the magnetic layer 102 is inverted.</p>
