The present invention relates to a light guide plate and a backlight unit assembly including the light guide plate. The light guide plate includes a moisture protection layer including a substrate layer including a polymethyl methacrylate resin and EPDM rubbers on the upper and lower surfaces of the substrate layer with the thickness between 10μm and 100μm. Accordingly, the present invention can significantly reduce the moisture absorption rate and increase the recovery force while implementing equivalent or higher mechanical strength and maintaining the level of the optical properties to be in an appropriate level range, thereby being able to reduce the air gaps of the backlight unit to ultimately implement a slim and narrow flat panel display.
