PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately executing initialization of driving conditions of a light source by reducing the change of characteristics generated between when the initialization of the driving conditions in the light source is executed and when an image is formed, smaller than that in a conventional technology when an image is formed on a photosensitive body surface by electrophotography through scanning of an optical beam emitted from the light source changing in emission amount characteristics to a driving current amount with time.SOLUTION: During an image non-forming period generated in a "paper surface" period for controlling lighting of a LD based on image data, LD emission characteristics are continuously obtained repeatedly, driving conditions of a light source during image formation are calculated based on the characteristics, and specific one of the calculated driving conditions is obtained as information used for setting appropriate to a current time. During an "inter-paper" period, the driving conditions calculated during the image non-forming period generated during the former "paper surface" period are set as driving conditions appropriate to the current time. |
