<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon fiber inhibiting reduction of specific gravity and improving elastic modulus, while using catalytic graphitization reaction capable of making high crystallization of a carbon fiber without a new facility.SOLUTION: A carbon fiber is obtained through a flame-resisting process and a carbonization process after obtaining carbon fiber precursor fiber by spinning a polyacrylonitrile-based polymer, and the polyacrylonitrile-based polymer is a polymer containing acrylonitrile and a salt of a group VIII metal and organic acid having a vinyl group, the carbon fiber having a degree of crystallinity A(%) and a specific gravity B(g/cm) satisfying following formulae (1) and (2). A>A(1) 0.95<B/B(2), where the degree of crystallinity of a carbon fiber obtained by flame-resisting and carbonization of the carbon fiber precursor fiber not containing the group VIII metal under same conditions: A(%) and the specific gravity: B(g/cm).</p> |
