PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste ink absorber having excellent permeability and retention.SOLUTION: A waste ink absorber that is incorporated in a waste ink tank and absorbs waste ink discharged from a head for jetting ink has: a gap portion; a high density portion formed around the gap portion; and a low density portion having a lower density than that of the high density portion in a direction of a plane having the widest surface area in one waste ink absorber that is not incorporated in the waste ink tank.
