A method for controlling the charging/discharging of a battery according to one aspect of the present invention, which is capable of calculating impedance of the battery without applying any additional test voltage and current in order to control the charging and discharging of the battery, includes the steps of measuring a battery current and a battery voltage output from the battery every unit time while the battery is charged or discharged; calculating phases and amounts of a plurality of battery currents and voltages at a plurality of target frequencies based on the measured battery current and voltage at a predetermined time period when a period for calculating a battery internal impedance has arrived; calculating phases and degrees of the battery internal impedances at each of the target frequencies by using the phases and amounts of each of the battery currents and voltages at each of the target frequencies; and obtaining parameter values constituting the battery internal impedances by using the phases and degrees of the battery internal impedances at each of the target frequencies.
