<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a travel time information providing apparatus which gives highly accurate travel time information.SOLUTION: An apparatus provides a user with travel time information in a traffic network including nodes and links and allowing the user to move by railway or bus. The apparatus comprises: means which stores probability distribution data which represents an in-vehicle waiting time which is the time required from when the user arrives at any node constituting the traffic network to when the user in the vehicle departs or a moving time which is the time required for the user to move any link constituting the traffic network, using probability distribution, at every spot where the in-vehicle waiting time or the moving time is generated; means which specifies a route connecting a departure place with a destination; means which acquires all probability distribution data corresponding to the in-vehicle waiting time and moving time generated on the route, and convolves the probability distribution data, to calculate probability distribution of the total travel time; and means which decides and outputs an estimated travel time on the basis of the probability distribution of the total travel time.</p> |
