PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating container having improved operability of switching between an opening position and a closing position for an operation cylinder member.SOLUTION: An operation cylinder member 22 is arranged in such a way as to be freely movable along a container axis, relative to a mounting cylinder member 21, between an opening position for communicating a discharge hole 51a with a communication hole 31a and a closing position for cutting off the communication. An over-cap 5 has an engagement piece 73 which is engaged in a to-be-engaged part 61b of the operation cylinder member 22 on removal of the over-cap 5 and moves the operation cylinder member 22 from the closing position to the opening position, and the engagement piece 73 is arranged so as to be freely movable between an engagement position for engagement with the to-be-engaged part 61b and an engagement release position for release of the engagement. In the over-cap 5, an elastic support moving the engagement piece 73 from the engagement release position to the engagement position is arranged. In the mounting cylinder member 21, there is provided a guide protrusion part 32d moving the engagement piece 73 from the engagement position to the engagement release position when the operation cylinder member 22 moves from the closing position to the opening position. |
