PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceiling installation structure of a luminaire capable of preventing the luminaire from colliding against a ceiling board and a ceiling substrate when an earthquake occurs.SOLUTION: A ceiling installation structure of a luminaire comprises a telescopic suspension support part 2 for suspending and supporting a luminaire 1 so that the luminaire 1 is located at a position of an opening 11a formed in a ceiling board 18 of a ceiling 11; a spring 3 for pulling up the luminaire 1 to a position higher than the opening 11a; and a drive unit 4 having an inhibition part for inhibiting the pull-up operation with the spring 3 and a release action part for releasing the inhibition with the inhibition part when shock above a certain level occurs. The structure also comprises a maintaining part 6 for maintaining a state that the luminaire 1 is pulled up with the spring 3.
