<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly efficiently collect latent heat from flue gas.SOLUTION: This latent heat collecting apparatus 1 includes: a latent heat collecting device body 2 for generating a treated exhaust gas and a treated latent heat collecting liquid by making exhaust combustion gas containing water vapor and latent heat collecting liquid directly contact with each other; and an exhaust heat collecting device 5 for collecting heat from the treated latent heat collecting liquid. At this time, the latent heat collecting liquid has a hygroscopic property. Such a latent heat collecting device 1 can dissolve the water vapor contained in the exhaust combustion gas into the latent heat collecting liquid by making the exhaust combustion gas and the latent heat collecting liquid directly contact with each other, and the latent heat collecting liquid can be heated to a dew point temperature or higher at which the water in the exhaust combustion gas is condensed.
