<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular steering system capable of suppressing instability of a motion of a rack shaft occurring when a restriction member is changed from a restrictive position to a release position.SOLUTION: A vehicular steering system includes a rack shaft 31, drive unit, restriction member 60, and control unit. The rack shaft 31 changes a turning angle of rear wheels by moving in a lateral direction Y. The position of the restriction member 60 includes a restrictive position at which the movement in the lateral direction Y of the rack shaft 31 is restricted through contact, and a release position at which the movement in the lateral direction of the rack shaft 31 is not restricted. The drive unit applies a force in the lateral direction Y to the rack shaft 31. When the position of the restriction member 60 is changed from the restrictive position to the release position, the control unit allows the drive unit to apply the force in the lateral direction Y, which acts on the rack shaft 31 from the side of the rear wheels, and a force in an opposite direction to the rack shaft 31.</p> |
