The present invention relates to a device for substituting a slab which automatically moves with an interval to calculate a regression value so that reliability of measuring the width and the length of a slab can be increased. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the device for substituting a slab is a sample device which substitutes the slab and includes a pair of sample brackets to which a standard sample forming a surface corresponding to a side of the slab is attached to be integrated; and a sample moving unit that is mounted on a roll which conveys the slab, and is connected with the sample bracket to provide a pathway on which the sample bracket moves.
