PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peripheral device, a control method for peripheral device, a download system for firmware, and a program such that while program data corresponding to an old type peripheral device is prevented from being downloaded from a host device, downloading of a system including the peripheral device can be avoided.SOLUTION: A peripheral device 20 rewrites program data into program data sent from a host device 20 and sends a normal completion response for the data rewriting back to a host device when a download file 23 stored in the host device 20 includes: rewrite-permission data for rewriting into the program data, but sends the normal completion response for data rewriting back to the host device 20 without rewriting program data stored in a peripheral device 30A into the program data sent from the host device 20 when the rewrite-permission data is not included, and stores identification information of the download file included therein in an identification information storage part 32A of the peripheral device 30A. |
