<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a base tread, capable of improving high mileage property and breaking resistant strength in a good balance, and a pneumatic tire using the composition.SOLUTION: The rubber composition for a base tread comprises a rubber component, silica, and a compound expressed by formula (I) below. In the composition, the following conjugate diene polymer is included by 5 mass% or more in 100 mass% of the rubber component. In the conjugate diene polymer, at least one terminal of a copolymer is modified with at least one compound selected from a group of compounds consisting of: a compound which has a monomer unit based on a conjugate diene, a monomer unit based on a compound having a substituted silyl group bonded to a hydrocarbyl group having a polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond, and a monomer unit based on a compound having a substituted amino group bonded to a hydrocarbyl group having a polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond or having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group, and which has an amino group or a carbonyl group optionally having a substituent; and a compound which has an amino group and a thiocarbonyl group optionally having a substituent.</p> |
