PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the disturbance of an image caused by an electrostatic offset by stably discharging the surface of a pressure member.SOLUTION: A fixing device includes a fixing member coming into contact with a transfer material onto which an unfixed toner image charged to a predetermined polarity is transferred, to transmit heat to the transfer material, the pressure member holding the transfer material at a fixing nip between the pressure member and the fixing member and pressurizing the transfer material, first voltage generation means for generating a bias voltage having the same polarity as the predetermined polarity, and first switching means switched so that the bias voltage generated by the first voltage generation means is supplied to the fixing member, when the transfer material passes through the fixing nip and so that the fixing member is grounded, when the transfer material does not pass through the fixing nip. |
