摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear shift controller for an electric vehicle that when motor torque is high at the onset of down shifting, suppresses G variation due to short-term increase and decrease in motor torque without receiving torque limit due to rise in motor rotation speed.SOLUTION: In an electric vehicle comprising a motor generator MG and an automatic transmission 3 in a drive-train is provided a gear shift controller 21 that when down shift is started, specifies motor torque of the motor generator MG to torque upper limit value Tlimit and increases input rotation speed of a transmission using the motor torque during the inertial phase during the down shift. The gear shift controller 21 has a motor torque response control portion (Fig. 4) that when the motor torque surpasses the torque upper limit value Tlimit during the down shift under tha assumption that start of the down shift is determined in an operation condition under which the start of the down shift is possibly determined, decreases torque response relative to accelerator operation of the motor generator MG.
