PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately identify a bi-color cladding coin made of a plurality of kinds of metal.SOLUTION: The coin identification device of the present invention includes: a first coil disposed so as to face a coin passage; a second coil; a coil oscillation circuit for repeatedly generating, in the first coil, an oscillation signal whose frequency varies in a certain period; and controlling means for detecting the passing of a coin through the coin passage on the basis of an output value of the second coil, and identifying the coin having passed through the coin passage on the basis of output values of the second coil at a plurality of positions in the passing period of the coin through the coin passage. |
