<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve occupant protection performance by raising collision determination accuracy in a case that a vehicle front part of the direction of travel collides with a pole-like object.SOLUTION: An SRS airbag system 1 comprises: an acoustic sensor 11 mounted at a front part of the direction of travel of a vehicle 100; a comparison circuit 14 for comparing vibrational energy from the acoustic sensor 11 with a threshold value; an acceleration sensor 12 mounted almost at the center of the vehicle 100; a primary integration value calculation part 17 and a secondary integration value calculation part 16 for calculating a travelling velocity and a travelling amount based on an output of the acceleration sensor 12; and an S-V map determination part 18 for determining whether a collision requiring actuation of an occupant protection device is generated or not, by setting, based on comparison result of the comparison circuit 14, a collision determining threshold value based on the travelling velocity and the travelling amount and comparing the collision determining threshold value with the travelling velocity and the travelling amount.</p> |
