A method for searching for music by using metadata is provided to decrease the number of category selection steps and to allow a user to select the category widely by enabling the user to select the music in all the metadata in a category. A method for searching for a music includes the following several steps. A user pushes a menu button for displaying a genre, an artist or an album(700). If there exists a wanted genre(702), the user checks a corresponding item in the genre(704) and checked artists and album items are displayed on an upper part(706). If the user does not the genre in the step 702 and there exists a wanted artist(708), items are checked among the artist(710) and album items affiliated to the artist are displayed on an upper part(712). If the user does not the artist in the step 708 and there exists a wanted album(714), items among the artist are checked(716), the user pushes a search button(718) and music related to a checked item are displayed on a track(720). If the user pushes a regeneration button for listening to the music displayed on the track(722), the checked music is regenerated and displayed on a screen(724). |
