Disclosed are a method for coding movement data, a device thereof, a method for decoding movement data, and a device thereof. The method for coding movement data according to the present invention determines availability of movement datasets of spatial forecast units which are spatially related to the current forecast unit and of time forecast units which are related by time to the current forecast unit. If the number of datasets of available spatial forecast units and time forecast units is smaller than a certain number, additional candidate movement datasets are generated using the available spatial forecast units and time forecast units for the number of total candidate movement datasets to meet a certain number. Using a certain number of candidate movement datasets, movement data of the current forecast unit is coded. |
