A server for monitoring resources and a web service of a monitoring target server, which monitors the resources and a web service state of the monitoring target server in a distributed environment and informs a client of a fault when it occurs as a result of the monitoring, comprises: an agent detection module accessing the monitoring target server and detecting whether an SNMP agent module is installed within the monitoring target server; an SNMP manager for communicating with the monitoring target server by using the SNMP and monitoring whether a fault occurs at hardware resources including a CPU, a memory and a disk of the monitoring target server if an agent model is detected in the monitoring target server; a protocol daemon for detecting the web service provided by the monitoring target server and cyclically requesting information on the web service such that web service change information including a source change and a file system change of the web service may be known; a fault determining module for sensing the information on the web service cyclically requested by the protocol daemon and determining the monitoring target server for having fault in the case that initially sensed information is inconsistent with subsequently sensed information; and an informing module for informing the client if a fault occurs at the hardware resources within the monitoring target server monitored by the SNMP manager or if the fault determining module determines that fault has occurred in the monitoring target server. |
