The present invention relates to a porous UO2 sintering pellet with improved electrolytic reduction efficiency and a manufacturing method thereof and, more specifically, to a porous UO2 sintering pellet for being inserted into an electrolytic reduction process for returning metal nuclear fuel and comprising one or more hollow spaces which are formed toward the inside of the porous UO2 sintering pellet from the outside. The porous UO2 sintering pellet increases a surface which responds to the outside in comparison to an existing cylindrical porous UO2 sintering pellet and easily discharges volatile and semi-volatile fission products which exist in fuel by increasing the number of pores which exists in the surface. The present invention is provided to reach sintering density required for the electrolytic reduction process at low sintering temperatures and shorten the temperature and the time that an O/U rate is 2.00 in reduction. |
