Disclosed are a system and a method for transmitting a file. The system for transmitting the file according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a file server for storing a share target file; a plurality of terminals for receiving and storing the share target file downloaded from the file server or another terminal having at least a portion of the share target file downloaded from the file server; and a control server for forming at least one group by grouping the terminals and for controlling the download of the share target file of each terminal belonging to each group.
