The present invention relates to a method for quantitating molecular iodine (I_2, Iodine) in an iodine compound. More particularly, the method comprises the steps of: quantitating a first solution, in which an iodine compound containing molecular iodine (I_2, Iodine) and sodium thiosulfate (Na_2S_2O_3) are reacted, through ion chromatography so as to measure a first concentration of iodine ions (I^-, Iodide) in the first solution; and quantitating a second solution, in which an iodine compound containing molecular iodine (I_2, Iodine) and water are reacted, so as to measure a second concentration of iodine ions (I^-, Iodide) in the second solution. A value obtained by subtracting the second concentration from the first concentration is determined as the content of the molecular iodine contained in the iodine compound, so that the contents of molecular iodine and iodine ions in a small quantity of iodine contained in an iodine compound can be respectively measured. |
