Provided are a method for connecting one device except the device, which is connected to a service providing device, to the service providing device simply, and controlling a service provided through the service providing device, and an apparatus thereof. A device control method for a first device to control a service provided through a service providing device may include the steps of connecting a second device having identification information related with the service providing device with out-of-band communications; receiving the identification information related with the service providing device through the out-of-band communications from the second device; executing at least one application related with the received identification information; and connecting the service providing device with in-band communications using the received identification information, and controlling the service provided through the service providing device.
