The circuit (1) has a degassing device (5) separate from a fuel tank (4) and engaging on a high point (PH) of an intake manifold (3). The degassing device includes a retention vessel (6) placed above the high point, for collecting a predetermined volume (VMAX) of fuel escaping through the intake manifold. A connecting unit (7) alternately allows communication of the vessel with the intake manifold, or isolates the vessel and the intake manifold. An exhaust port (8) allows the discharge (Qair) of the air expelled from the intake manifold via the vessel without passing through the tank. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a fuel system (2) a removable module for a degassing device.
