A server for generating widget data includes a communications unit for receiving a request for the generation of a widget and at least one selection required for the generation of the widget from a first device; a search condition generating unit for generating items to represent search conditions based on at least one selection and the request which are received; a video content link processing unit for generating a list of at least one video content linked with the item generated based on the received request and at least one selection; and a widget data generating unit for generating widget data including the generated items and list. The communications unit transmits the generated widget data to a second device.
