<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of optical fiber capable of accurately detecting an abnormal point.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of optical fiber, when glass fiber G1 is formed by drawing glass preform G for optical fiber G2, a point where a variation of the external diameter of the glass fiber G1 is detected is regarded as an abnormal point when the variation exceeds a predetermined diameter threshold. When a pressure variation during drawing in a drawing furnace 2 detected at the point where the variation of the external diameter exceeds the diameter threshold exceeds a predetermined pressure threshold, the point where the external diameter exceeds the diameter threshold is not regarded as an abnormal point.</p> |
