Provided is a liquid crystal display device that controls timings of performing refreshing so as to surely reduce electric power consumption during pausing driving. When an image of RGB data input from outside changes or the number of pausing frames is continuously a predetermined number, in the case where the number of immediately preceding pausing frames is less than a threshold value BCTH, image signal refresh is performed once; and in the case where the number of pausing frames is equal to or more than the threshold value BCTH, first, boost charge refresh is performed, and subsequently, image signal refresh is performed. This makes it possible not only to reduce flickering due to decreases in brightness, but also to prevent refresh from being performed serially even when a frequency of RGB data during pausing driving is high (for example 30Hz). |
