A liquid filter comprises a hollow cylindrical container 10 having a flat vertical baffle-plate 18 serving to mask an inlet 16 from an outlet 17 and providing an aperture 19 through which liquid to be filtered passes to at least one sieve plate 20 located above said aperture and below the outlet 17. The upper and lower ends of the container are closed by screw caps 14, 15 and the baffle-plate 18 slides in vertical grooves. The apparatus is suitable for filtering preserves, milk and other liquids which may be forced through the container or drawn therethrough by suction applied to the outlet 17. |
