摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize impact absorption performance of a bumper beam extension depending on the distribution of the magnitude of collision load to be input, while attempting weight saving of the bumper beam extension.SOLUTION: An FRP-made bumper beam extension 18 integrally includes: a main impact absorbing part 18a; and sub impact absorbing parts 18b, 18c consisting of groove-like concave parts which are separated to each other in a vehicular width direction, and are extending in a front-and-rear direction, and the plate thickness of the sub impact absorbing parts 18b, 18c is set as smaller than that of the main impact absorbing part 18a. Therefore, by making the main impact absorbing part 18a as the main impact absorbing area to have relatively high impact absorbing performance and making the sub impact absorbing part 18b, 18c as the sub impact absorbing area to have relatively low impact absorbing performance, impact absorbing performance of the bumper beam extension 18 cannot only optimized depending on the distribution of the magnitude of collision load, but weight saving of the bumper beam extension 18 can be attempted by the amount of plate thickness thinning in the sub impact absorbing part 18b, 18c.
