<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the density of salt content in an ambient environment, adjust the details of refining processing of polishing the surface of a photoreceptor drum according to a detection result to prevent deterioration of image quality due to the salt content, and thereby maintaining good image quality of an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a detection unit for detecting the density of salt content in an ambient environment; a photoreceptor drum as a rotating image carrier; and a cleaning mechanism that polishes the surface of the photoreceptor drum to perform refining processing of the photoreceptor drum in different settings according to the density detected with the use of the detection unit.</p> |
