PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for analyzing the chemical composition of a polyolefin polymer by using liquid chromatography.SOLUTION: High-temperature liquid chromatography is performed using a column in a stationary phase comprising graphitic carbon, to determine the monomer-to-comonomer ratio of a polyolefin copolymer, such as a copolymer of ethylene and 1-octene or a copolymer of propylene and ethylene.
