Disclosed are a time synchronization method and system. The method comprises: categorizing an NE1 whose output port is connected to a 1PPS+TOD synchronization link and upstream nodes of the NE1 into a first level, and categorizing downstream nodes of the NE1 into a second level, where a first layer priority of the first level is higher than a second layer priority of the second level; an NE3 connected to the NE1 through a PTP synchronization link in the downstream node receiving a first device priority of the NE1 and the first layer priority from the NE1; and after the NE3 receives a second device priority of an NE2 and the second layer priority sent by the NE2 connected to the NE1 through the 1PPS+TOD synchronization link in the downstream node, determining that a clock parameter of the NE1 is optimal, and synchronizing a local clock to the NE1. By means of the present invention, the following effects are achieved: the reliability of the time synchronization network is enhanced, and the field of mixed applications of different time synchronization technologies is enlarged. |
