The bit case (10) has a main portion (30) that is accommodated in a hole (102) of a block (100). The main portion is provided with a front portion (24) which is connected to a rear portion (26). A front groove in the front portion of the main portion is adapted to receive a first compression tape (52). A rear groove in the rear portion of the main portion is adapted to receive a second compression tape (54). The tapes are made of nylon composite material containing glass material. An independent claim is included for a mining machine.
