PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing consumption of toner and a reduction in productivity, while achieving stability of image density.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus according to the present invention includes control means 400 for continuously forming a first gradation pattern formed by changing a developing bias to developing means 103 without changing output of exposure light from exposure means 290 and a second gradation pattern formed by changing the output of exposure light without changing the developing bias, detecting the first gradation pattern and the second gradation pattern with density detection means, and determining either one of charging bias, developing bias, and output of exposure light during printing according to a detection result of the density detection means, so as to control imaging conditions. |
