PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preform inspection method and an inspection apparatus that, when inspecting a preform formed into a bottle-shaped synthetic resin container by blow molding, can satisfactorily inspect a mouth part of the preform irrespective of the shape of the preform.SOLUTION: A preform 1 is held at a holder 5 including a protrusion part 7 inserted into a mouth part 2 of the preform 1. Radiation light is entered into the holder 5 from an illumination device 10 disposed below the preform 1 conveyed while being held at the holder 5 and is let out from a side surface of the holder 5 facing the inner peripheral surface of the mouth part 2. An imaging device 20 takes an image with the mouth part 2 of the preform 1 illuminated from the inner peripheral surface side with the light let out from the side surface of the holder 5, thereby detecting whether or not the mouth part 2 has a defect. |
