PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically adjust the weight a counter weight continuously to lighten a load to a winch at operation and suppress vibration of a liquid in a tank, maintaining comfortableness of riding.SOLUTION: A counter weight 7 of an elevator apparatus 1 is provided with a tank 9 for introducing a weight-adjusting liquid, a piston 10 for adjusting a volume of the in-tank liquid; and first connection means for communicating with the tank. Further, an elevator building is provided with: second connection means, disposed at a counter weight position when a car stops at a stopping floor and at a position opposite to the first connection means, for communicating with a reservoir pipe 14. Further, when the car stops at a stopping floor, the first connection means and the second connection means are interconnected to detect a weight difference between the car and counter weight 7, calculate a shift amount of the piston 10 for obtaining a liquid amount equivalent to the weight difference, and control a shift position of the piston 10. |
