摘要 An apparatus serves as a node connected to a communication network in which multiple paths are provisioned by using a plurality of transfer apparatuses each configured to perform snooping on a transferred message. When participating in a multicast group, the apparatus selects, from among the plurality of transfer apparatuses, at least one first transfer apparatus each including a plurality of first ports configured to receive a first message addressed to nodes belonging to the multicast group. Then, the apparatus acquires a plurality of transfer paths via which the first message is to be transferred, by generating, for each of the first ports provided for the at least one first transfer apparatus, a second message requesting participation in the multicast group, and transmitting the generated second message to the at least one first transfer apparatus so that the second message is transferred via the each of the first ports.
