The present invention relates to the field of communications. Disclosed are a data transmission method and a base station, to solve the technical problem that because service requirements of user terminals are not distinguished in an MU-MIMO system, the data transmission amount of the user terminals per unit time and the system data throughput are low. The data transmission method comprises: selecting a first user terminal to be matched from a first terminal group, and selecting N-1 second user terminals to be matched from a second terminal group; determining whether the loss of a service rate after pre-pairing falls in a corresponding range of loss tolerance; when the loss falls in the range of loss tolerance, determining whether a total service rate of a multi-antenna terminal group after pairing is higher than a service rate before pre-pairing of the first user terminal to be matched; and if the total service rate is higher than the service rate before pre-pairing, pairing the first user terminal to be matched and the second user terminals to be matched to form the multi-antenna terminal group. The present invention is mainly applied in an MU-MIMO service of a base station. |
